ONEKOREA--while this term usually refers to the hope that one day South Korea and North Korea will be under the name of one nation, it is also a word that refers to the Zainichi Korean. These Zainichi Korean find it hard to live in Japan revealing their true Korean names. What barriers do Zainichi face and how can we better the inequality they are facing? We answer this question by trying to make Zainichi ‘visible’ in the society we are living today. And ONEKOREA FESTIVAL is the place where you can start.
Both Zainichi and Japanese university students have gathered to produce this once in two years Festival. You will find many exciting events taking place on the 30th of March at Yoyogi Park. Stop by just to taste the tasty Korean Barbeque or to witness the vivid colors used in the Fashion Shows showing traditional Korean and Japanese clothes.
No matter who you are and where you are from, we guarantee you the first step into knowing the heathered Culture of Korea and Japan at the ONEKOREA FESTIVAL.
